What is DTF Printing
DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a relatively new technology in the realm of textile printing. It's similar to DTG (Direct to Garment) printing but with some differences in the printing process.
In DTF printing, the design is printed onto a special heat-sensitive adhesive film using a compatible printer. This film is then placed onto the garment, and heat and pressure are applied to transfer the design from the film onto the fabric. The adhesive on the film allows the design to stick to the garment during this process.
DTF printing offers several advantages, including the ability to print vibrant, full-color designs on a variety of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, and blends. It also allows for printing on dark-colored garments without the need for a white underbase, as is often required with traditional DTG printing. Additionally, DTF printing can be more cost-effective for small to medium print runs compared to other printing methods.

Step 1: Design Preparation
- Create or prepare the design artwork using graphic design software.
- Ensure the design is in the appropriate format and resolution.
Step 2: Film Printing
- Print the design onto heat-sensitive adhesive film using a DTF printer.
Step 3: Apply DTF Powder
- Evenly apply right amount of DTF Powder over the printed design on the film
Step 4: Transfer
- Apply heat and pressure to transfer the printed film onto the garment, activating the adhesive.
Step 5: Curing and Finishing
- Cure the transferred design on the garment using a heat press or conveyor dryer.
- Remove the remaining film, leaving behind the printed design, and inspect for quality before finishing and packaging the garment.
